基本解释《史记·陈涉世家》：“乃丹书帛曰‘陈胜王’，置人所罾鱼腹中。卒买鱼烹食，得鱼腹中书，固以怪之矣。又闲令吴广之次所旁丛祠中，夜篝火，狐鸣呼曰‘大楚兴，陈胜王’。”后因以“狐鸣鱼书”指起事者动员群众的措施。

狐鸣鱼书的典故

秦朝末年，陈胜、吴广被抓去当兵，因大雨耽误了行程，只好起来造反。造反前陈胜请算命先生算了一卦，在白绸子写“陈胜王”塞入鱼腹，半夜在古庙用竹笼罩上篝火，学狐狸叫“陈胜王”，为起义造势，第二天就起义，建立张楚政权。
