春秋时期，鲁国的孔子为了逃避战乱逃到齐国。他因此听到了齐国最美妙的音乐《韶》和《武》。他听后好几天连吃肉都感觉不到肉的味道，并仔细分辨两者的区别。他说《韶》非常完美，《武》也十分优美，但还是有缺点的。
