道听途说的典故

一天，毛空告诉艾子：“一只鸭子一次生了一百个蛋。”艾子不相信。毛空又说：“是两只鸭子生的。”艾子还是不相信。毛空又说是三只鸭子生的，艾子也不相信……这样，最后一直增加到十只鸭子，艾子就是不信。过了一会儿，毛空又告诉艾子：“上个月天上掉下一块三十丈长、二十丈宽的肉。”艾子也不信，毛空又缩短到二十丈长、十丈宽，艾子依然不信。艾子问毛空：“你刚才说的鸭子是谁家的？肉掉到什么地方？”毛空说：“我说的话都是在路上听别人讲的。”于是，艾子对他的学生们讲道：“你们可不要像毛空那样道听途说！”
