宋朝时期，密州知府苏轼因为写诗被诬陷入狱，后来被贬到黄州团副使。他在黄州期间，遇到两位好朋友。朋友弄到一条新鲜鲈鱼，苏轼问夫人要酒，夫人王闰之早就给他准备酒以备他不时之需，他们乘船去游赤壁，一直玩到尽兴而归。
