出处春秋时，宁戚很穷，想见齐桓公而出仕，一天，乘桓公出城迎客的机会，在车下喂牛，“扣牛角疾歌”。桓公闻而赞其为“非常人”，命后车载之，拜为上卿。见《吕氏春秋·举难》、《晏子春秋·问下二》。汉·刘向《说苑·尊贤》亦载此事。

牛角之歌的典故

春秋时期，寒士宁戚很穷，渴求见到齐桓公拜求官职。一天，齐桓公出城迎客，宁戚乘机在车下喂牛，敲击牛角唱出自己的心声，齐桓公听到后称赞他为“非常人”，就拜他为上卿。宁戚为齐桓公成就霸业做出了很大的贡献。
