半路出家的成语故事

基本解释半路：路途走到一半；指成年以后；出家：离家去当和尚、尼姑。不是从小而是年岁大点才去当和尚、尼姑或道士的。泛指半路上才学着干某一行不是本行出身。

宋朝皇帝在昊天寺上香敬佛遇辽兵围困，杨令公率七个儿子前来救驾，其中三个儿子战亡，一个下落不明。后在伐辽战争中遭元帅潘仁美陷害，杨家只杨六郎幸存，在归途中，杨五郎因当年战败出家当和尚挺身而出救了杨六郎。
