出处《太平御览》卷二○八引《符子》：“［周人］欲为千金之裘，而与狐谋其皮；欲具少牢之珍，而与羊谋其羞。言未卒，狐相率逃于重丘之下，羊相呼藏于深林之中，故周人十年不制一裘，五年不具一牢。”

与狐谋皮的典故

传说周朝有人特别喜欢穿皮衣吃精美的食品，他“欲为千金之裘而与狐谋其皮”，狐狸就传警报逃到深山中；“欲具少牢之珍而与羊谋其羞”，羊呼叫同伴一起藏到茂密的森林里去了。结果他没有制成一件皮袍，没有办成羊肉祭祀宴会。
