译文
公主不幸去世了，只留下瑶台寺还在昭陵旁边。
今天晚上正值凉风习习的八月十五日清秋月夜，明亮的月光照着这座用公主的汤沐所得造的寺庙。
注释
嬴女：指传说中的秦穆公女弄玉。
鼎湖：地名。古代传说黄帝在鼎湖乘龙升天。
八月十五日夜瑶台寺对月绝句鉴赏
中唐宰相权德舆有诗《八月十五日夜瑶台寺对月绝句》：据宋·宋敏求《长安志图》所绘的唐太宗昭陵图，在陵域范围之内，有“瑶台寺”、“广济寺”、“澄心寺”、“百城寺”、“舍卫寺”、“升平寺”、“证圣寺”、“宝国寺”等。又据《金石萃编》记载：“瑶台寺，则《昭陵图》有之，在昭陵之西、澄心寺之南也。”据今考古，瑶台寺在昭陵西南十八里处。此诗当是权德舆于昭陵所写。查其诗中之意，则与某位公主有关。
“嬴女乘鸾已上天”。“赢女”，指秦穆公之女弄玉。萧史教弄玉吹箫引凤，后来二人乘凤乌而去。此句以弄玉成仙比喻公主去世。
“仁祠空在鼎湖边”。“仁祠”，明·杨慎《艺林伐山·仙陀》：“佛寺曰仙陀，又曰仁祠。”在此当指瑶台寺。“鼎湖”，本为古代传说黄帝乘龙升天处，后借指帝王。如清·吴伟业《圆圆曲》“鼎湖当日弃人间，破敌收京下玉关。”此句指公主死后，空留下瑶台寺在唐太宗的昭陵旁边。
“凉风遥夜清秋半”。此句扣题，点明写诗之时是凉风习习的八月十五日月夜。
“一望金波照粉田”。“金波”，月光。“粉田”，脂粉田，即公主的汤沐邑。此句再次点明季节，及瑶台寺与公主的关系。
全诗大意：公主不幸去世了，只留下瑶台寺还在昭陵旁边。今天晚上正值凉风习习的八月十五日清秋月夜，明亮的月光照着这座用公主的汤沐所得造的寺庙
那么，此诗中提到的公主是谁呢？
此诗既然写于昭陵，则公主当是唐太宗的姐妹或者女儿。查《新唐书·公主传》，唐太宗的姐妹与女儿中，葬地与佛寺有关者有二：一、比景公主，始封巴陵……显庆中追赠，立庙于墓，四时祭以少牢。二、晋阳公主……因诏有司簿主汤沐余赀，营佛祠墓侧。又据宋·赵明诚《金石录·卷三》：“第五百九十三，《唐瑶台寺碑》：许敬宗撰，诸葛思祯正书。贞观十八年。”则至迟到贞观十八年，瑶台寺就已经存在，则此庙与比景公主无关。再据《新唐书·公主传》，“因诏有司簿主汤沐余赀，营佛祠墓侧”，与“粉田”之意正合，则晋阳公主的葬地极可能就在瑶台寺附近。
当然，瑶台寺在昭陵西南十八里，算是很外围了，比起同母姐妹们，离昭陵主峰似乎太远，不符合晋阳的身份。其实，这是有原因的。当时认为女子未及笄而亡的有戾气，不能葬在家族墓地，只能葬在佛寺中，用佛法化解戾气。所以二凤在昭陵边修佛寺，并且把小犀牛葬在那里，其实已经是在打擦边球，没办法再近了。

权德舆，唐代文学家。字载之。天水略阳（今甘肃秦安）人。后徙润州丹徒（今江苏镇江）。德宗时，召为太常博士，改左补阙，迁起居舍人、知制诰，进中书舍人。宪宗时，拜礼部尚书、同中书门下平章事，后徙刑部尚书，复以检校吏部尚书出为山南西道节度使。卒谥文，后人称为权文公。
