译文
暖烘烘，酒醉人，缠逼得芳心萌动。小黄莺儿一声声在帘栊鸣啼，唤醒了花前的春梦。指甲纤细轻柔，眉毛轻轻泛动，和唱一曲相思曲没有到终。玉葱般的手指，云峰般的秀发，娇柔无力，偌大的琵琶沉重得让她胆怯心惊。
注释
朝天子：中吕宫曲名。又名谒金门、朝天曲。句式：二二五、七五、四四五、二二五。
逼匝：一作“逼拶”，局促在狭窄之地，即逼迫意。
小帘栊：挂帘的小窗。
玉葱：形容手指细白。
翠峰：指发髻高耸。
朝天子·小娃琵琶鉴赏
诗人乔吉一生是个落魄文人，爱好喝酒，以诗寄情，浪迹江湖。但他绝非轻薄之流。在这首曲子里，他描写的虽是一个弹琵琶的“雏妓”，他自己也与酒徒醉客为伍，但他内心的那份善良柔情却脱颖而出，与他人判然有别。 面对天真纯洁的琵琶女，诗人的心底萌动着丝丝柔情，不胜怜惜。他的笔落得很轻很轻，他的词用得极柔极柔，只怕一不小心惊扰伤害了面前的人儿。“纤柔，轻纵，玉葱，翠峰”这四组词用得极为小心翼翼，又妙笔升华。既把女子的容貌体态烘托了出来，又给读者留下了想象的美妙空间。诗人虽然没有具体地描画女子的外貌，但读者可以从那些生动的词语中品味体会她的美。另一方面，她的娇羞胆怯，不谙世事，与酒徒醉客，狂欢热闹的场面形成巨大的反差，强烈地衬托出她处境的弱势与辛酸，引起诗人与读者的同情。
“和相思曲未终”，这一句值得玩味，它像一个省略号，把小小琵琶女难言的心理作了微妙的处理。同时，也把诗人的心理作了微妙的处理。她为什么没有把这一相思曲子唱完，是忘记了歌词，是不愿唱，还是唱不下去，不得而知。而善良的诗人，恰恰抓住了这个微妙的时刻，将读者的思绪引向想象的空间，给读者留下空白，留下富足。

乔吉(1280?～1345) 元代杂剧家、散曲作家。一称乔吉甫，字梦符，号笙鹤翁，又号惺惺道人。太原人，流寓杭州。钟嗣成在《录鬼簿》中说他“美姿容，善词章，以威严自饬，人敬畏之”，又作吊词云：“平生湖海少知音，几曲宫商大用心。百年光景还争甚？空赢得，雪鬓侵，跨仙禽，路绕云深。”从中大略可见他的为人。剧作存目十一，有《杜牧之诗酒扬州梦》、《李太白匹配金钱记》、《玉箫女两世姻缘》三种传世。
