并州有纥干者，好戏剧。邑传言有狐魅，人心惶。一日，纥干得一狐尾，缀于衣后，至妻旁，侧坐露之。其妻疑为狐魅，遂持斧欲斫之。纥干亟云：“吾非魅。”妻不信。走，至邻家，邻家又以刀杖逐之。纥干叩头谢：“我纥干也，第戏剧耳，何意专杀我？”
纥干狐尾译文及注释
译文
并州（今山西太原一带）有个叫纥干的人，喜欢开玩笑。当地传言有狐狸闹鬼，大家人心惶惶。一天，纥干得到一条狐狸尾巴，就缝在了衣服后面。他来到妻子身旁，侧身而坐，故意将狐狸尾巴露在外边。妻子见了，暗自怀疑他是狐狸精 ，于是悄悄操起斧头向他砍来。他急忙说：“我不是狐狸精！”妻子不相信。纥干跑到邻居家，邻居们又拿起刀棍追逐他。他磕头道歉说：“我是纥干，这只是一个玩笑，你们为什么一心要杀死我呢？”
