问荆溪溪上人家，为甚人家，不种梅花？老树支门，荒蒲绕岸，苦竹圈笆。寺无僧狐狸样瓦，官无事乌鼠当衙。白水黄沙，倚遍栏干，数尽啼鸦。

译文
我问荆溪岸边的人家，你们是什么人家，怎么不种植梅花呢？他们用老树支撑着大门，荒芜的蒲草长满了水岸。他们用细瘦的竹棍圈出篱笆。小庙的神明不灵验，狐狸在瓦上跳腾；当官的不管事，让乌鸦和老鼠满衙门跑。溪水白茫茫的，岸上满是黄沙。我倚遍一处处栏杆，一只只数尽了那乱叫的乌鸦。
注释
折桂令：曲牌名，又名《蟾宫曲》、《天香引》。
荆溪：水名，在江苏省宜兴县，因靠近荆南山而得名。
为甚人家：是什么样的人家。
老树支门：用枯树支撑门，化用陆游诗：“空房终夜无灯下，断木支门睡到明。”
圈笆：圈起的篱笆。
样瓦：戏耍瓦块。
乌鼠当衙：乌鸦和老鼠坐了衙门。

乔吉(1280?～1345) 元代杂剧家、散曲作家。一称乔吉甫，字梦符，号笙鹤翁，又号惺惺道人。太原人，流寓杭州。钟嗣成在《录鬼簿》中说他“美姿容，善词章，以威严自饬，人敬畏之”，又作吊词云：“平生湖海少知音，几曲宫商大用心。百年光景还争甚？空赢得，雪鬓侵，跨仙禽，路绕云深。”从中大略可见他的为人。剧作存目十一，有《杜牧之诗酒扬州梦》、《李太白匹配金钱记》、《玉箫女两世姻缘》三种传世。
