译文
序：我的小女儿行女出生于深秋时节，在第二年四月的初夏死去。短短三年之中，两个心爱的女儿相继夭亡。
上苍赐予人类宝贵的生命，寿命的长短何以这么难猜！
有人可以幸运地活到白首，有的人却死在母亲的腹胎。
痛失金瓠的悲伤还没有结束，又眼看着行女被尘土湮埋。
可怜的孩子像木槿花一样凋落；又像晨露，干的这么快。
我想到那凋零的小小的生命，再也无法重来，顿时间失了常态。
怨恨天高却没有长梯借我攀缘，我还能向谁诉出我心中的苦哀！
注释
首夏：农历四月。
二子：指作者的两个女儿金瓠、行女。
伊上帝句：谓上帝赐予人寿命。降：赐下。命：人的寿命。
修短：长短。裁：猜测，估料。
终年：尽其天年。
怀妊：怀孕。
前哀：指大女儿金瓠之死。阕：尽。新殃：指行女之死。
方朝华句：方，比如。朝：早上。华：指木槿花，开于夏秋季节，早上开花，夜晚凋谢。晚敷：指夜晚凋谢。
晞：晒干。
忽忽：恍惚之貌。失度：失态。
盖：语气词。阶：阶梯。

曹植（192－232），字子建，沛国谯（今安徽省亳州市）人。三国曹魏著名文学家，建安文学代表人物。魏武帝曹操之子，魏文帝曹丕之弟，生前曾为陈王，去世后谥号“思”，因此又称陈思王。后人因他文学上的造诣而将他与曹操、曹丕合称为“三曹”，南朝宋文学家谢灵运更有“天下才有一石，曹子建独占八斗”的评价。王士祯尝论汉魏以来二千年间诗家堪称“仙才”者，曹植、李白、苏轼三人耳。
