邴原少孤，数岁时，过书舍而泣。师曰：“童子何泣？”原曰：“孤者易伤，贫者易感。夫书者，凡得学者，有亲也。一则愿其不孤，二则羡其得学，中心伤感，故泣耳。”师恻然曰：“欲书可耳!”原曰：“无钱资。”师曰：“童子苟有志,吾徒相教,不求资也。”于是遂就书。一冬之间，诵《孝经》《论语》。

译文一
邴原从小就失去父亲，几岁时，从书塾经过就哭起来了，书塾的老师问他说：“孩子，你为什么哭泣？”邴原答道：“孤儿容易悲哀，穷人容易感伤。凡是能够学习的人，都是些有父母的孩子。我一来羡慕他们有父亲，二来羡慕他们能够上学。内心感到悲伤，所以就哭了。”老师为他感到悲伤，说：“你想要读书吗？”邴原说：“我没有钱支付学费。”老师说：“孩子你如果有志向，我传授你知识，不收学费。”于是邴原就开始读书。只过了一个冬天，就已能背诵《孝经》《论语》。
译文二
邴（bǐng）原是三国魏国人。小时候，他经过学堂，听到清脆响亮的读书声，于是忍不住哭泣。老师说：“小孩子你因为什么哭啊？”他说：“凡是能入学堂学习的人，都有父母。”老师询问他的缘故，邴原说：“我小时候就失去了父母。一是羡慕他们不是孤儿，二是羡慕他们能够学习，我心中十分悲伤，所以才哭泣。”老师哀伤了很久，说：“如果你想要学习，不需要付学费。”邴原于是进入学堂学习，最终成为了国家杰出的人才。
译文三
邴原小的时候就失去父亲，几岁时，从书塾经过就开始哭，书塾的老师问他说：“孩子，你为了什么哭？”邴原回答说：“凡是能够读书的人，都是一些有父母的孩子。我第一羡慕他们有父母亲，第二羡慕他们能够上学。内心感到十分悲伤，所以就哭了。”老师哀怜地说:“孩子如果你想学（我传授你知识）不收学费。”
