译文
丹阳郡的王气黯然消沉，以往的豪华奢侈，兴盛之地，如今都已凋谢化为尘。
当地的衣冠服饰已经不再是唐朝的式样，然而父老乡亲，依然可以津津乐道东晋时期的典故事迹。
历尽沧桑的万岁楼边谁在伴月吟唱，千秋桥上有人自在的吹箫。
世间兴衰，桑海桑田，唯一不变的是，青山依然巍峨耸立，垂杨花开叶落，江水潮起潮落。
注释
京口：是江苏镇江的古称，是一座具有悠久历史的文化古城，是吴文化的发源地之一。
一昨：前些日子。
丹阳：指江苏镇江，唐代京口为丹阳郡。
万岁楼：相传秦始皇在月华山（镇江三山五岭八大寺中的三山之一）下开凿过放生池，叫绿水潭。晋刺史王恭在山上建了一座万岁楼。此楼很出名，引来无数骚人墨客，成为感怀时事、去国还乡的极佳去处。
千秋桥：东晋平北将军王恭镇守京口，在城楼上建造万岁楼，下有千秋桥，寓意“千秋万岁”，并建有楼阁式石牌坊，石拱桥横跨漕河之上。

京口怀古二首·其二鉴赏
诗人登临京口，追思以前京口为战略要地，王气非凡，孙权在此建立霸业，刘裕北伐气吞胡虏，如今已经物是人非，睹物思人，感慨万千。开篇直抒，丹阳郡的王气黯然消沉，以往的豪华奢侈，兴盛之地，如今都已凋谢，变成荒丘，成为尘埃。
当地的衣冠服饰已经不再是追寻唐朝的式样，然而父老乡亲们，依然可以津津乐道东晋时期的典故事迹。
历尽沧桑的万岁楼边谁在伴月吟唱，千秋桥上有人自在的吹箫。无数骚人墨客在此感怀时事。
世间兴衰，物是人非，然而青山不改，绿水长流，唯一不变的是，青山依然巍峨耸立，垂杨花开叶落，江水潮起潮落，静静注视着人间的兴衰变迁。
诗人登临京口，登高望远，抚今追昔，感慨良多。忆昔过往，孙吴开国建都，安邦定国，王恭建楼修桥，兵强将勇，鼎盛繁华，一派奢华；如今却繁华不再，英雄作古，一切豪华奢侈都化为尘埃，唯余残垣断壁，父老乡亲们提起往事，记忆犹新，然而服饰连相近的唐代都不一样，桥上楼边有人吟唱吹箫，似乎在诉说着无奈，世间的沧桑变幻，令人惆怅，而唯只有青山绿树和潮水，不管人间兴衰，日复一日，相伴与共。
《京口怀古》叙述了历史变迁，抒发诗人的人生感慨，豪放雄浑，含蓄深沉，空明洒脱，凝练隽永，意蕴深远，回味无穷，古今对比，艺术感染力极其强烈，颇有唐诗遗风，堪称怀古佳作。
