道丧向千载，人人惜其情。
有酒不肯饮，但顾世间名。
所以贵我身，岂不在一生？
一生复能几，倏如流电惊。
鼎鼎百年内，持此欲何成！

译文
儒道衰微近千载，人人自私吝其情。
有酒居然不肯饮，只顾世俗虚浮名。
所以珍贵我自身，难道不是为此生？
一生又能有多久，快似闪电令心惊。
忙碌一生为名利，如此怎能有所成！
注释
道丧：道德沦丧。道指做人的道理，向：将近。惜其情：吝惜陶渊明的感情，即只顾个人私欲。
世间名：指世俗间的虚名。
“所以”二句：所以重视自身，难道不是在一生之内？言外之意是，自苦其身而追求身后的空名又有何用！
复能几：又能有多久。几，几何，几多时。倏：迅速，极快。
鼎鼎：扰扰攘攘的样子，形容为名利而奔走忙碌之态。此：指“世间名”。

陶渊明（约365年—427年），字元亮，（又一说名潜，字渊明）号五柳先生，私谥“靖节”，东晋末期南朝宋初期诗人、文学家、辞赋家、散文家。汉族，东晋浔阳柴桑人（今江西九江）。曾做过几年小官，后辞官回家，从此隐居，田园生活是陶渊明诗的主要题材，相关作品有《饮酒》、《归园田居》、《桃花源记》、《五柳先生传》、《归去来兮辞》等。
