译文
云门寺坐落在东山脚下，山花在暮色中格外清幽。
悬灯见夕阳中千峰矗立，卷起帘幔想五湖的清秋。
古老壁画上只剩鸿雁在，纱窗上点缀着星宿斗牛。
怀疑地势高峻天路已近，在梦中和白云一起遨游。
注释
云门寺：在会稽（今浙江省绍兴县）境内的云门山（又名东山）上，始建于晋安帝时。云门寺阁：指云门寺内的阁楼。
香阁：指香烟缭绕的寺中阁楼。即云门寺阁，诗人夜宿之处。东山：云门山的别名。
象外：犹物外，物象之外。
千嶂（zhàng）：千山、群山。嶂：像屏障一样陡峭的山峰。
卷（juǎn）幔（màn）：卷起帐幕或帘子。五湖：太湖的别名。
画壁：绘有图画的墙壁。馀：留存。一作“飞”。
纱窗：糊有细密纱网的窗子。斗（dǒu）牛：指斗星宿和牛星宿，泛指天空中的星群。
天路：天上的路，通天的路。

宿云门寺阁创作背景
云门寺是一个隐居之地。梁代处士何胤、唐代名僧智永等都在寺里栖隐过。此寺是盛唐时期一个有名的隐居之地。盛唐文儒孙逖曾夜宿此寺，此诗即为诗人在旅途中夜宿寺阁有感而作，其具体作年未详。

宿云门寺阁鉴赏
此诗一、二句以写意的笔法，勾勒出云门寺的一幅远景。首句点出云门寺的所在，次句写出寺的环境氛围。“香阁”二字，切合佛寺常年供香的特点。寺阁坐落在东山下，那儿地势高，云雾缭绕。时近傍晚，山花笼上了一层苍茫的暮色，似在烟霭之中。用“象外”去形容“幽”，是说其幽无比，超尘拔俗。一座幽静的佛寺便在邈远天际淡淡化出。两句于写景之中兼寓叙事：云门寺尚在远方，诗人此时还在投宿途中。
三、四句所写，是到达宿处后凭窗远眺的景象。这两句对偶工稳，内蕴深厚，堪称是篇中的警策。“悬灯”、“卷幔”正是入夜时初到宿处的情状：点燃宿处油灯，卷起久垂的帷帘，观赏起窗外的夜色。诗人借悬灯写出夜色中壁立的千嶂，借卷幔写出想象中所见浩淼的太湖。山与水对比，纵与横映衬，意境极为优美。其实，在茫茫夜色中，纵然卷起窗帘或借助于所悬之灯，也是看不到千嶂奇景和五湖秋色的，这纯属想象之辞。诗人不为夜幕和斗室所限，而能逸兴遄飞，放笔天地，写出如此壮美的诗句，显示了诗人宽阔的胸怀。而且，这两句诗并非泛泛的写景抒情之笔。诗人以“悬灯”、“卷幔”表示投宿，又以“秋”与“夕”点出节令与时间，并以“千嶂”、“五湖”的高远气象表明所宿处的云门山寺的势派。
五、六两句，紧承“悬灯”和“卷幔”，写卧床环顾时所见。可见这时诗人已经睡下，但一时还未成眠，便游目室内与窗外：墙上，因为年深日久，壁画的大部分已经剥落，只见到尚剩下的大雁；天空，闪烁的群星像是镶嵌在窗户上那样临近。画壁黯淡，足见佛寺之古老，正与诗人此时睡意昏昏的状态相接近；群星在窗口闪烁，像是引诱着诗人进入梦乡。两句分别写出云门寺“高”与“古”的特色。
最后两句写入梦后的情景。终于，诗人坠入了沉沉的梦乡：“更疑”句直承“纱窗”句，因有斗牛临窗的情景，才引出云门寺地势高峻、犹如与天相近的联想，因而在夜间竟做起驾着白云凌空遨游的梦来。“疑”字用疑似的口气将似有若无的境界说出，朦胧恍惚，真有梦境之感。
全诗八句，紧扣诗题，丝丝入扣，密合无间。诗人以时间为线索，依次叙述赴寺、入阁、睡下、入梦，写足“宿”字。又以空间为序，先从远处写全景，再从阁内写外景，最后写阁内所见；由远而近，由外而内，环环相衔，首尾圆合，写尽云门寺的“高”与“古”。艺术结构上颇见匠心，体现了诗人从“无我之境”到“有我之境”的审美追求。
