译文
在近已咫尺的阳春三月，在一户普通的老百姓家中 。
为了迎接新一年里燕子的归来，不放下破旧的帘子把房屋遮蔽起来。
一场春雨后燕子的翅膀上沾着丝丝的雨滴， 土地里散发出一股淡淡的泥土香味，里面还混杂着雨滴砸落的花瓣。
燕巢早已筑修好了，连小燕子都长大了 。一人家一燕家两户家庭相伴着又度过了一个美丽的年华。

咫（zhí）尺：距离很近。比喻春天的短暂。咫，古代称八寸为咫。
迎燕鉴赏
燕子秋去春来，巢于檐下，民间视为吉祥物。“寻常百姓家”即借鉴刘禹锡的“旧时王谢堂前燕，飞入寻常百姓家。”正因为燕子不嫌贫爱富、趋炎附势，主人也“不下旧帘遮”，热情的迎接燕子的归来。“巢成雏长大，相伴过年华”两句，更是把燕子看成生活的一部分了。
古诗中燕子往往象征着幸福的生活。它们双宿双飞，本诗中的燕子也在主人的檐下幸福的生活。燕子的自由自在，正是诗人隐居生活的反映；燕子之乐，足见诗人之乐。诗歌生动的描绘了燕子的生活习性，表达了燕子与老百姓的深厚情谊。
首句一个“咫”字，指八寸，也表现了暮春的转瞬即逝，抒发了作者对春的珍惜之情。“寻常百姓家”借用了刘禹锡的“飞入寻常百姓家”，歌颂了燕子不趋炎附势，不嫌贫爱富的质朴、高尚的品格，表达了燕子对百姓的眷恋。第三句“微”形容雨之小，描写了燕子在雨中穿梭无数次，为幸福的生活勤劳地筑巢，“泥香带落花”描写了春天温馨、幸福的场面。尾句是对燕子勤劳地赞美，也再次表现了人与燕之间的深厚情谊，同时又是诗人幸福隐居生活的写照。
