我看一些非凡之人，被眼前的小事纠缠。
你颇具有远大志向，文武才华耽误多年。
听说边境有敌入侵，立即赴军万里争先。
我将进京谋求功名，何时你才胜利归来？
注释
此诗选自《道光中卫县志》。陈七，未详，当为行七。西军，约指驻安西（今新疆一带）的军队。
非常者：非凡的人。
碌（lù）碌：平庸，一般。
鸿（hóng）鹄（hú）志：《史记·陈涉世家》：“陈涉少时，尝与人佣耕。辍耕之垄上，怅恨久之曰：‘苟富贵，勿相忘！’庸者笑而应曰：‘若为佣耕，何富贵也？’陈涉太息曰：‘嗟乎，燕雀安知鸿鹄之志哉！’”此以有远大志向的鸿鹄（天鹅）比陈七。鸿鹄：鸟名，飞得高远。
蹉（cuō）跎（tuó）：耽误失时。比喻失意，时间白白过去，光阴虚度。书剑年：指读书做官、仗剑从军的年月。书剑，指文武之事。
书剑：指文才武略。
边烽动：边塞上的军事行动。烽：烽火。古时边境有敌入侵。在高台上烧柴或狼粪以报警。
京国：京城。
何当：何时可以。
献：献功。
凯（kǎi）还：胜利归来。

送陈七赴西军鉴赏
首联，诗人从生活经验上远远起笔，说非凡之人往往在眼前干些小事，无所作为，以消除友人对仕途失意的愧恨，为后文的称颂勉励作好铺垫。首句的“吾观”二字，把这一生活经验，说成亲眼所见，表达得斩钉截铁，使人不得不信。
第二联由普遍转到个别，具体写友人的抱负和遭遇。前后两联意脉贯通，应接严谨。“鸿鹄志”三字是对友人的称赞，也是诗人“冲天羡鸿鹄”的勃勃雄心的表露。“蹉跎”一句，为友人申述了怀才不遇的悲愤，也表现了诗人宏图难展，碌碌无为的苦闷。
第三联由感伤转入豪放，用数字对举法构成顿挫。“一闻”对“万里”，再着一个“忽”字，把友人不计得失，急于国难，努力争先的精神和形象，表达得很是鲜明。
最后以反诘句终篇，扣住题意，表明自己也将进京寻找前程，并预祝友人旗开得胜，早日献功阙下。
全诗浑健壮逸，当为孟诗别调。此诗的情绪比较复杂，它一方面赞扬了陈七素有大志，一闻边关有敌入侵，便立即争先从军，万里赴敌，以身许国的精神，表现了诗人关心国事，预祝友人早日凯旋的感情；另一方面又抒发了对明主弃才，友人失意的愤慨。全诗既有称颂又有勉励，既饱含怨恨又无迹可寻。

孟浩然（689-740），男，汉族，唐代诗人。本名不详（一说名浩），字浩然，襄州襄阳（今湖北襄阳）人，世称“孟襄阳”。浩然，少好节义，喜济人患难，工于诗。年四十游京师，唐玄宗诏咏其诗，至“不才明主弃”之语，玄宗谓：“卿自不求仕，朕未尝弃卿，奈何诬我？”因放还未仕，后隐居鹿门山，著诗二百余首。孟浩然与另一位山水田园诗人王维合称为“王孟”。
