烛影摇红·越上霖雨应祷创作背景
“越”，指绍兴。“霖雨”，即多雨也。由词题“越上霖雨应祷”句看来，此词作于公元1246年（即宋理宗淳祐六年，据夏承焘《吴梦窗系年》，词人四十七岁）以后，他往来于杭、越之间的时候。
烛影摇红·越上霖雨应祷鉴赏
《烛影摇红》，《能改斋漫录》卷十六：“王都尉（诜）有《忆故人》词，徽宗喜其词意，犹以不丰容宛转为恨，遂令大晟府（徽宗所置音乐研究创作机关）别撰腔。周美成（邦彦）增损其词，而以句首为名，谓之《烛影摇红》云。”王词原为小令，五十字，前片两仄韵，后片三仄韵。周邦彦演为慢曲，《梦窗词集》入“大石调”。九十六字，前后片各九句五仄韵。
“秋入”两句，点“雨”。此言秋夜中室内灯影幢幢；室外檐水嘀嗒，恰如琵琶单调的咚咚哀鸣声。“越娥”两句。此言越地多水泊，如今那些水泊也都被雨水盛得满满的，像一面面镜子般任由姑娘们挑选，去照影梳洗红妆。山色沾雨，青黛如洗，这景致也可与少女弯月般的黛眉一比高低。“相间”两句，言田野上黄绿相间，正当秋收时节，遥望城郊的西北面，是词人春天时曾经去游玩过的一处景点。“晚舂”三句承上。此言临近黄昏，捣米声此起彼伏，炊烟袅袅穿林缥缈，到处都散发出一阵阵新米煮成的米饭香味。“新稻炊香”句，也可知此词作于晚稻收获之后。上片给人们描绘了一幅越地秋雨图。
“清磐”两句，祈祷雨止。“炷”，即灯芯也。此言从清风中传来了一阵祈祷雨止的磬、鼓声，祈雨止的荷花灯也在雨中的积水处滋滋地燃烧着。“阿香”两句，引神话传说追究“霖雨”之因。“阿香”，传说中雷部推车女。据《后搜神记》云：“永和中，义兴人姓周，出都日暮；道边有一新草小屋，一女子出门，周求寄宿。一更中，闻外有小儿唤阿香声，云：‘官唤汝推雷车。’女乃辞去，夜遂大雷雨。向晓，周看所宿处，止见一新冢。”“玉女”，华山女神名。此处是说：秋雨绵绵不止，这可能是雷部那位推雷车的阿香姑娘，秋夜从梦中惊醒而啼哭不止的缘故吧？而华山女神却因为这“霖雨”不止，也在为人世间犯愁呢。“人驾”两句承上，引“宝莲灯”神话传说，道出“玉女幽素”之由。因为女神的夫君还在人间远游，受此“霖雨”之阻，不能及时返回华山。所以在梧桐落叶，秋尽冬将至，夫君还没有归来之时，“玉女”只好无聊地把为他精心准备的宴食拿来独自享用。“采菱”三句，默祷雨止。此处是说：什么时候能够去绍兴的蓬莱阁中欢唱起江南水乡的《采菱》古曲，庆贺秋雨停止呢？“采菱”，应候晴天，所以词人选它作雨止的庆贺曲。下片重在祈祷雨止。

吴文英（约1200～1260），字君特，号梦窗，晚年又号觉翁，四明（今浙江宁波）人。原出翁姓，后出嗣吴氏。与贾似道友善。有《梦窗词集》一部，存词三百四十余首，分四卷本与一卷本。其词作数量丰沃，风格雅致，多酬答、伤时与忆悼之作，号“词中李商隐”。而后世品评却甚有争论。
