译文
庭院下的柳树还有人弹奏歌曲，花丛间也有姐妹在嬉戏。还记得当年在青楼时的那些事，在月光下红窗前写封书信，谁又能替我寄给小莲呢？
烛陪人落泪，春蚕吐丝，诉说着无尽的凄楚缠绵。乌黑的头发又能经得起多少次生离死别，未必能像断弦一样无情。今年依旧比去年还要衰老。
注释
破阵子：唐教坊曲，一名《十拍子》。陈旸《乐书》：“唐《破阵乐》属龟兹部，秦王（唐太宗李世民）所制，舞用二千人，皆画衣甲，执旗旆。外藩镇春衣犒军设乐，亦舞此曲，兼马军引入场，尤壮观也。”按《秦王破阵乐》为唐开国时之大型武舞曲，震惊一世。玄奘往印度取经时，一国王曾询及之，见所著《大唐西域记》。此双调小令，当是截取舞曲中之一段为之，犹可想见激壮声容。六十二字，上下片皆三平韵。

绛（jiàng）蜡：红蜡烛。
等闲：无端。
吴蚕：吴地的蚕，江苏一带盛产蚕丝，故称“吴蚕”。
到了：到底。
绿鬓（bìn）：指乌黑的头发。
无情无断弦：像断弦一样无情。

破阵子·柳下笙歌庭院创作背景
北宋年间，词人多来往于青楼，并与小莲生成美好的回忆。可是时间消逝，小莲已经不在，于是词人为了表达对这位青楼女子的无限相思以及怀念之情，故写下了这首词。

破阵子·柳下笙歌庭院鉴赏
开头两句，描述昔日相聚的欢乐，有人物，有活动，有环境，写得充实而概括，表现了当时富贵之家的那种歌舞升平、安乐豪华的生活景象。在这个生活圈子的姊妹行中，便有令人思念的小莲。接下来，作者把前两句的描写归结为“春楼当日事”，并把这些回忆写成书信，想要寄给小莲。至此，笔锋陡转，“凭谁寄小莲”，因为不知小莲身在何处，这美好的回忆已无法与她共享了，由此不免引发感伤。
下片开头，虽是化用李商隐的名句，但与原作并不全同，“等闲”、“到了”两个词语起了不小作用，使句意增加了一层无可奈何的感叹，既是“推陈”，更见“出新”，小晏这种艺术手段，尤其值得赞赏。最后三句，感叹人们都一年一年地逐渐老去，今天虽然仍是“绿鬓”，但毕竞承受不住愁恨的煎熬，然而又是仍在苦苦支撑，还不至于立刻就到“断绞”的地步。三句之间，环环相扣，委婉曲折，终于诉尽了九转回肠。
全词描写词人对小莲的思念：大概是和小莲隔别很久了，消息不能通，思之歪切，不觉形于笔墨，缠绵往复，仿佛有李商隐“春蚕到死丝方尽，螨炬成灰泪始干”的情思。对一个歌妓能够这样真挚，可见词人对女性绝无轻薄的意思。

晏几道（1030-1106，一说1038—1110 ，一说1038-1112），男，汉族，字叔原，号小山，著名词人，抚州临川文港沙河（今属江西省南昌市进贤县）人。晏殊第七子。历任颍昌府许田镇监、乾宁军通判、开封府判官等。性孤傲，晚年家境中落。词风哀感缠绵、清壮顿挫。一般讲到北宋词人时，称晏殊为大晏，称晏几道为小晏。《雪浪斋日记》云：“晏叔原工小词，不愧六朝宫掖体。”如《鹧鸪天》中的“舞低杨柳楼心月，歌尽桃花扇底风”等等词句，备受人们的赞赏。
